Suicide-”Never Leave a Fallen Comrade”

If you know someone who is troubled, reach out and help them. Remember the Warrior Ethos, this applies to all  Battle Fields…. even the one in a person’s mind.

I am an American Soldier.

I am a Warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United States and live the Army Values.

I will always place the mission first.

I will never accept defeat.

I will never quit.

I will never leave a fallen comrade.

This is a very personal message … to you, perhaps for some, this is way too personal. If you feel that way…you may want to stop reading this now. But I ask you,  … to read on.

What “IS” It Like Over There?

The question asked after deployment #3, during “The Surge”,  2006-07 Iraq. During that deployment the 3rd BCT, 82nd took a record number of casualties ….

“What is it like over there?”

“There is no way someone (referring to a civilian, e.g. family member) could really understand how it is over there … not because they don’t ‘want’ to but rather,  because they lack the context in which to place or imagine it.”
